Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Bodø/Glimt, Flamengo and Paris Saint-Germain have been nominated for the 2026 Ballon d’Or Men’s Club of the Year award, while Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Club América, Manchester City and OL Lyonnes make up the women’s shortlist.
The five men’s nominees were selected for their performances during the 2025-26 season, with the evaluation period running from August 3, 2025 to July 19, 2026. The award considers trophies won, quality of play, memorable victories, performances exceeding expectations and fair play.
Paris Saint-Germain are seeking to retain the men’s prize after winning the inaugural award in 2025. The French side enjoyed another exceptional campaign, winning the Champions League, Intercontinental Cup, European Super Cup, Ligue 1 and French Super Cup.
Arsenal earned their nomination after winning the Premier League, while Bayern Munich completed a domestic treble of the Bundesliga, German Cup and German Super Cup.
Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt are the surprise inclusion after winning the Norwegian Cup, while Brazilian giants Flamengo were recognised after securing the Copa Libertadores, Brazilian Championship and Rio de Janeiro State Championship.
Women’s Club of the Year
The women’s shortlist features Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Club América, Manchester City and OL Lyonnes.
Defending champions Arsenal are absent after winning the award in 2025.
Barcelona are among the leading contenders after winning the Women’s Champions League, Liga F, Spanish Cup and Spanish Super Cup.
Bayern Munich completed the German domestic double, winning the Bundesliga and German Cup, while Manchester City claimed the Women’s Super League and FA Cup.
France’s OL Lyonnes won the French Championship, French Cup and French League Cup, while Club América secured the CONCACAF Champions Cup and Mexican Closing Championship.
The 2026 Ballon d’Or awards will be presented in London on October 26, with the Club of the Year prizes among the honours to be decided by an international jury of specialist journalists.
