The Ghana Police Service has arrested and interdicted General Corporal Robert Koranteng in connection with the death of 23-year-old Ivan Baidoo on the Tema Motorway.
Baidoo died in an incident on August 27, 2026, which came to public attention after a video relating to the incident went viral on social media.
The Police said initial investigations led to the identification and arrest of General Corporal Koranteng, who is currently in custody.
The Homicide Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) is investigating the circumstances surrounding Baidoo’s death, while the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) has been tasked with examining the conduct of the officer.
The Police Service said the investigations are ongoing and assured the public that appropriate action will be taken based on their outcome.
