Inter Miami have won the 2026 Campeones Cup after defeating Mexican side Cruz Azul 2–0, with Lionel Messi scoring his 100th goal for the club and providing the assist for the second goal.

Messi opened the scoring in the 24th minute, heading in a cross from Luis Suárez to reach the landmark in his 115th appearance for Inter Miami.

The Argentine then turned provider in the 81st minute, delivering the corner that Casemiro headed home to seal the victory.

The victory gives Inter Miami their first Campeones Cup title and their fourth trophy since Messi joined the club in 2023. The club previously won the Leagues Cup in 2023, Supporters’ Shield in 2024 and MLS Cup in 2025.

The triumph also takes Messi’s career trophy tally to 48, further extending his record as the most decorated footballer in history.

It was also a winning debut for new Inter Miami head coach Cristian “Kily” González, who took charge of the team for the first time in the final.

The Campeones Cup is contested between the reigning MLS Cup champions and Liga MX champions, with Cruz Azul representing Mexico after winning the Liga MX title.
