Mikel Arteta has agreed a new contract with Arsenal that will take his tenure at the club into at least a 10th year.

The Spanish manager, who joined Arsenal in December 2019, has reached a final agreement with the Premier League champions after several months of negotiations. His existing contract was due to expire at the end of the 2026/27 season.

The length of the new agreement has not been officially disclosed, but reports indicate it will extend Arteta’s stay beyond his 10th anniversary at the club.

Arteta has overseen Arsenal’s transformation since taking charge, including their Premier League title success. His new deal also reportedly comes with a significant increase on his existing salary.

The 44-year-old had previously sought to reassure Arsenal supporters about his future, saying he was happy at the club and wanted to remain in charge.

Arteta’s renewal comes after Arsenal began the 2026/27 campaign as defending Premier League champions.

The agreement is expected to provide continuity for the club as Arteta enters the next phase of his tenure at the Emirates.
