The police have completed investigations into a rape complaint against the suspended headmaster of Obuasi Senior High Technical School (SHTS), Zakaria Abdulai, and forwarded the case docket to the Attorney-General’s Office for advice.

Ashanti South Police Public Relations Officer ASP Lloyd Baidoo disclosed this on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, saying investigators were awaiting further instructions from the Attorney-General before taking the next steps.

He clarified that the docket currently under review relates to a complaint filed by a student on August 4, 2026.

According to the police, Abdulai was arrested following the complaint and subsequently granted bail. He remains at home while the case awaits further direction.

ASP Baidoo also distinguished the complaint under investigation from separate allegations involving other students, saying additional cases would be investigated if formally reported to the police.

The development follows public attention surrounding allegations of sexual abuse involving the school’s headmaster and a wider controversy over comments made by NDC Amasaman Communications Officer Daniel Nortey during a television discussion of the case.

The police said they would act on the Attorney-General’s advice regarding whether to prosecute or undertake further investigations.

The allegations against Abdulai have not been determined in court.
