The Bank of Ghana has identified 20 mobile loan applications operating without the required licence or authorisation and warned the public against using the platforms.

The Central Bank said the operators are providing digital credit in breach of Ghana’s regulatory requirements and raised concerns over consumer protection, customer data privacy and compliance with established standards.

The applications named by the Bank are Agile Loan, AmanaPay, CashWay, Foutou Credit, HastyCredit, InsCash, KudiNow, LendAura, Lever Credit, LoanGlide, NovaCedi, Palm Loan, PocketLoan, Rite Credit, SikaCare, SikaNow, Susu Loan, Taploan Up, Temivo Cedi and Zatuloan.

The BoG said the operations of the identified providers contravene the Directive for Digital Credit Service Providers in Ghana, issued in September 2025.

It has therefore advised the public not to engage with unlicensed digital credit providers and urged anyone who encounters such operators to report them to the Bank.

The latest action forms part of efforts by the regulator to sanitise Ghana’s rapidly expanding digital credit market and protect consumers from entities operating outside the regulatory framework.

The Bank has previously warned that unlicensed lenders often use mobile applications and social media platforms to offer loans to the public without the necessary authorisation.
