The Ministry of Education has warned students, parents and guardians against fake and digitally manipulated Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) placement results being circulated on social media.

The Ministry said it had identified attempts by individuals to alter genuine placement slips and circulate them online while falsely claiming that the government had changed students’ original school placements.

Following preliminary internal verification, the Ministry said some of the placement slips being circulated do not correspond with records generated from the official CSSPS platform.

It said the barcodes and QR codes on the purported placement slips also do not match the placement information shown on the documents.

The Ministry further said its system and audit logs do not support the claims accompanying the documents, with available evidence indicating that the affected slips had been digitally manipulated or otherwise altered.

It described the activity as a serious attempt to undermine public confidence in the CSSPS placement process and create unnecessary confusion and anxiety among students, parents and guardians.

The matter has consequently been referred to the Cyber Security Authority and other relevant security agencies for further investigation and appropriate action.

The Ministry has urged the public not to share unverified placement slips or claims circulating on social media.

Parents, guardians and students have instead been advised to rely only on placement information obtained through official CSSPS channels.

The Ministry said it remains committed to conducting the 2026 CSSPS placement exercise with transparency, fairness, integrity and accountability, while legitimate concerns about placements will be investigated through the appropriate channels.
