Ghanaian singer Moliy has made history as the first Ghanaian artist to win an award at the Caribbean Music Awards, taking home Dancehall Song of the Year for her hit Shake It to the Max (Fly) Remix.
The award was presented on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the fourth Caribbean Music Awards ceremony in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
The ceremony was held in the Caribbean for the first time after previous editions took place in Brooklyn, New York.
Moliy’s winning song features Jamaican dancehall stars Shenseea and Skillibeng, with production by Silent Addy.
The track entered the awards as one of the most nominated songs, receiving three nominations.
The victory adds to the song’s growing list of achievements. Shake It to the Max (Fly) Remix previously won recognition at the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards and received an RIAA gold certification in the United States after surpassing 500,000 units.
The original song was released by Moliy and Silent Addy in December 2024, before the remix featuring Shenseea and Skillibeng was released in February 2025.
The collaboration subsequently gained traction across Afrobeats and dancehall audiences and charted internationally.
