Uganda Airlines will begin operating flights to Accra from October 27, 2026, adding a new direct air link between East and West Africa.

The Ugandan national carrier will operate the Accra service four times a week as part of its expansion across the African continent. The airline has advertised the new Accra route on its official channels, with flights scheduled to begin on October 27.

The route will connect Accra with Entebbe, Uganda’s main international aviation hub, with the service operating via Lagos. The route is scheduled to be served by a Boeing 737-800.

The planned service will make Uganda Airlines the fourth East African carrier serving Accra, joining Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines and Air Tanzania, according to AviationGhana.

Uganda Airlines says the expansion is intended to strengthen connections between East, West and Southern Africa and improve access through Entebbe International Airport. The Accra route is also expected to support business, tourism, trade and cargo links between Uganda and Ghana.

The airline’s expansion comes as African carriers increase intra-continental connectivity, giving travellers more options for moving between African markets without relying solely on European or Middle Eastern hubs.

Uganda Airlines also plans to launch daily flights to Kigali, Rwanda, from November 18, 2026, as part of the same expansion programme.
